| It was a turning point in my life. Earning a college degree in 4 years would have cost me a minimum of 40K, and there was no guarantee of a high salary. On the other hand, preparing myself to pass the test on my first try only took me about 2 months, and it greatly increased my chances of getting a high paying job. My choice at the time was either sacrifice 4 years for a college degree, or prepare and focus on passing a POSS Test in two months. The choice was obvious, and as I look back, the testing wasn’t very difficult (and a lot easier than 4 years of college).

| In the ten years leading up to my electrical power plant job, I was hopping from low paying dead end jobs to low paying dead end jobs. As a result I was living paycheck to paycheck and could barely support my family. I needed a change; a better quality of life. I searched the classified ads daily, but all I found were openings for guess what? Low paying dead end jobs. Then one day I was walking thru our local mall and it just so happened that our local electric company was having their annual community public awareness fair to inform people about power plant careers and power plant jobs. At the fair, I learned about upcoming job openings in virtually every dept in the company (everything from customer service, truck drivers, bookkeeping, maintenance mechanics, mail clerk, janitors, security officers, clerical workers, safety | officers, human resources clerk, operator helpers, operations supervisors, vehicle attendants, instrument technicians, meter mechanics, landscapers, diesel mechanics, and electricians to name a few.)

Of the different career tests that a prospective employee can take to get hired, the company representative mentioned that one of the fastest ways of “getting in” the company was to learn about, practice, then concentrate on POSS testing. She informed me about other career tests that could help me get in, but I wanted the quickest way, and for me that was to prepare for POSS testing to get a power plant job. I knew that if I got in, opportunities to transfer to other positions within the company would be available to me. I had no clue what a Plant Operator | |

Selection System was, so I searched for a sample POSS Test/practice poss test. I was determined to qualify for a high paying job. For the next few weeks I researched, studied and practiced. I was so determined to get into the field of high paying jobs that I even hired an engineer to create several sample EEI POSS exams for me, so I could practice over and over.A POSS exam is only scheduled about once every 4 or 5 months at electric companies for power plant jobs, and the policy for retaking the test (due to failing the first try) was to wait 6 months before taking it again. I was determined to get a high paying job in less the time that it took to get a college degree, so I prepared well for my first try. And the preparation doing POSS test practice paid off. I passed the test in one try. (A tip when studying for the test is to aim to score 100, but if you only score a 70, that’s good enough because it is a Pass/Fail test). Passing the test was my first step. My next step was to learn “How To Ace an Interview”. Once you “get in” you can transfer within many power supply companies to different departments (that includes customer service, truck drivers, bookkeeping, maintenance mechanics, mail clerk, janitors, security officers, clerical workers, safety officers, human resources clerk, operator helpers, operations supervisors, vehicle attendants, instrument technicians, meter mechanics, landscapers, diesel mechanics, and electricians to name a few). It is difficult to pass the EEI POSS Test (Edison Electric Institute) without practice, so if you are serious about getting a high paying job with no college you need to buy the pdf e-book. To access a POSS test sample, remember this user name (heco), and password (testing),

| After you enter the user name and password, click on each of the 5 links (Assembly, Mechanical Concepts, Tables and Graphs, Reading Comprehension, and Mathematical Usage) under POSS. I believe these are among the best FREE POSS Test prep available, but still not enough to pass the real test on your first try. (You can also find information on POSS MASS tests on the link.) To increase your chances of passing the test and getting hired for high paying power plant jobs, I recommend more serious practice.
